Discover TAG Heuer's new limited edition Monaco watch inspired by British racing green and historical racing cars.

Last year, TAG Heuer released a Monaco Chronograph Racing Blue Limited Edition as a tribute to French racing colors. This year, the brand introduces a new version inspired by the iconic British racing green. The concept of using specific livery colors to represent different countries in racing dates back to the early 20th century. The green color became associated with British racing after Selwyn Edge won the 1902 Gordon Bennett Cup for England. Despite variations in the shade of green used, "British racing green" remains a symbol of the country's racing heritage.

The Monaco Chronograph Racing Green features a silver sunray brushed dial with vibrant "green opaline" subdials. Super-Luminova highlights the hour track in light green, while yellow lacquer accents the chronograph seconds hand and the marker at 12 o'clock. The dial is completed with polished silvered hour markers and a date window at six o'clock.

Like its predecessor, this edition comes in a sandblasted 39mm grade-2 titanium case with a beveled domed sapphire crystal and a sapphire caseback. The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters and is paired with a green calfskin strap with racing perforations and a titanium deployant buckle. The crown is positioned on the nine o'clock side as an homage to the original 1969 version.

The watch houses the TAG Heuer Calibre 11 movement, which combines a Sellita SW-300 base with a Dubois-Depraz module for the chronograph functions. Limited to 1,000 pieces, each watch is engraved with "One of 1000" on the caseback. The Monaco Chronograph Racing Green is priced at $9,300.

While the Monaco may not suit everyone's preferences, its historical significance and unique design make it a standout timepiece. The sandblasted titanium case sets it apart from other Monaco models, and the absence of red in this colorway gives it a fresh look. The pairing of green and yellow on the dial creates a retro neon light vibe. Despite the higher price point compared to other TAG Heuer chronographs, the Monaco Racing Green offers a captivating colorway and an iconic case shape.
